How to care for your jewelry

Jewelry is meant to be worn day in and day out. However, this will also cause your piece to become dirty with oils, dust and grime. You may have wondered in the past; how you can make your piece look as shiny and new as the day you got it?

It is actually very inexpensive and easier than you may think.
Use a soft tooth brush with a small dab of dish soap to gently scrub your item, then rinse with warm water. The dish soap will break down all the dirt and grime while being gentle enough on your piece, especially items with colored stones.

Caring for your gold  jewelry
Since gold is such a soft metal it is very susceptible to scratches, dings and dents. Be very mindful of the tasks you doing while wearing your piece. Try not to do any heavy lifting, working out, gardening or high impact sports.
Avoid getting chlorine on your jewelry as the chemical will damage the finish.  It's always best to just take off your pieces while using any cleaning products.

Included with every purchase is a polishing cloth that can be used to give your item a little extra shine when needed.
Caring for your sterling silver jewelry
Much the same as gold jewelry, be very mindful of the products you use while wearing your item.
To avoid tarnishing, try to keep your items in an air tight bag while not wearing them, as tarnishing happens when the metals mixed in with the silver have a chemical reaction to moisture and sulfur in the air. One of the best tricks to keep your piece shiny is by wearing it as our body oils actually help prevent it from tarnishing!

How to get rid of tarnish?
Always start by scrubbing your piece with a small amount of dish soap with a soft toothbrush, as this is one of the gentlest ways to clean.

In my opinion, one of the best natural ways to clean and remove tarnish is by mixing 1/2 cup of vinegar with 2 tablespoons of baking soda in a bowl. Let your pieces sit for 2-3 hours and then rinse them with warm water.

Another great natural method is by using a small amount of baking soda and water to form a paste. Use a soft brush to very gently scrub the paste on your piece and rinse with warm water.
